-----------------------------------------------------------
Welcome and Welcome Back! Last week's article brought a
number of inquiries regarding HOW it would be possible to
"Refuse to Participate." Hence my words today. I hope that
any difficulty we may encounter only serves to strengthen
our determination that "It's not over till I win."
You may also note that we have finally received our ISSN. It
is not a big thing really, but from a publisher's
perspective - it legitimizes our Newsletter.
And now....Let's Get Started!

I have offered you several notepads, organizers and To Do
List programs over the last 15 months. Several of them I
utilize regularly. But I must admit that they are all
lacking in ease of use. For a quick note or to save that web
site URL so you can take a peek later it was like swatting a
fly with a sledge hammer.
Then I found IC3. Since I installed this little program
I find myself using it 4-5 times, EVERY time I am in front
of my computer. It is simple. There is NO learning curve,
yet it will do a bunch of stuff! You'll never know till you
try it for yourself. Discover it at: http://www.ic3.de/
Check it out! You're gonna like it!

Ten Ways To Win When Others Are Losing
1. Stop trading hours for dollars, you will never be paid
what your mind is worth. Use your natural entrepreneurial
skills to start your own business. We ALL have a natural
desire to be on our own, to be free of a boss and perhaps
even to be the boss. Whether full time or part time, the
only way to truly control your income is to be the OWNER.
2. Find an industry that makes money no matter what the
economic forecast. There are certain products and
services that will always be in demand. Look around and
think it through - What will people need and/or do
without regard to how tight money is or the rate of
inflation, etc.?
3. Look for a type of company that is suffering or going
away or changing radically. Whenever one business goes
bust some opposing business rakes it in. When you find
what is going down, you should be able to tell what will
be going up.
4. There are several areas that have a limited window of
opportunity. While they may not offer a lifelong career,
during that time frame the ability to profit is very
real. For example: the current generation is being raised
on PCs and Palm Pilots, but there is (and will be for
perhaps 10 years) a large market for helping and training
those who are "Newbies" to much of the technologies.
Also: the largest segment of our USA society is zooming
past the age of 50. They do & will have many needs, and
will pay to fulfill them.
5. If you must work for someone else try sales. Why? Few of
us want to be salespeople for whatever reason. What that
translates to? For the person who is willing to learn the
skills, take the nos, find a product or service they like
& believe in and work hard for a couple of years....well,
they can practically write their own ticket.
6. Use the huge base of people on the web to your advantage.
There are so very many people on the Internet now that
there exists a market for ANYTHING. One example is E-Bay.
After all, 'One man's trash is another man's treasure.'
Even better is the concept of "niche marketing." There
are things (hobbies or trades) that you know a lot about
no matter who you are or where you are in life. Odds are
there are plenty of folks online who would pay a few
bucks to have that info.
7. Pick an affiliate program in which you like & believe in
the product or service. Make sure that it is honestly run
and pays AT LEAST 30% per sale. Now, become an expert at
promotion. It has been my experience that well written ad
copy in targeted publications and using Top or Solo ads
will return 2 to 1 on your advertising expenses.
8. Learn a new skill. Just because we get out of formal
schooling should not stop us from wanting to learn. In an
ever more rapidly changing world an unwillingness to
learn is suicidal.
9. Get out of debt and increase the amount you save.
Compound interest is an amazing thing. If you are paying
it - it can bankrupt you, if you are earning it - it can
make you a millionaire in time for your retirement.
10 Take an hour or so away from distractions with a pad and
pen. Follow what Dr. Robert Schuller writes about in
several of his books including "Possibility Thinking."
Take your paper and write down 100 ways to succeed while
others are failing. Brainstorm it! Let your mind flow and
you will come up with many viable ideas.
Whatever you do - don't 'settle for' and be one of those
that a year from now is sitting around saying 'if only I'd
done....'
Till next time. Good luck and God Bless.
Remember, IdeasWIN. Develop yours, Chris

Looking around for a Success System you'll discover what I
did. On the Internet, it's tough to know who to believe.
There are so many people making ridiculous claims, it's
insane. It's like day after day, you get hit with hype pitch
after hype pitch.
Yet I found that there is ONE SYSTEM that everyone
recommends. One system that every marketing "guru" raves
about. I stumbled across this simple formula that sells
products like crazy. If you're interested in selling your
products by the hundreds or even thousands, listen up: you
can not afford to pass this up. Why? The Guarantee.
Your Products Sell Like Crazy Or Triple Your Money Back!

How To Over-Come Discouragement
Recently, I've received a number of emails about how
to motivate ourselves and push forward when we are
discouraged. Sometimes the writer describes it as
depression, other times they use words like frustration,
or feeling "stuck" and they want to know how to turn
things around. That's a great question!
We all feel discouraged or frustrated or "stuck" at some
point in our lives. Whether it's being at our "wits
end" with our kids or scared that a business venture
won't work out, or confused by our own behavior toward
something we very much want but seem unable to achieve,
we all have these feelings!
Unfortunately, one of the first things I notice is that
many of the writers are asking terrible questions! They
ask me "why am I so stuck?" or, "Why does this always
happen to me?" Notice the assumptions they make about
being "so" stuck and that this sense of discouragement
or frustration "always" happens. With questions like
that, no wonder they stay stuck!
A much better question is, "How do highly successful
people handle these normal experiences?"
Here are a few of my observations about how successful
people handle the normal roadblocks and frustrations of
life.
1. First, they acknowledge that what they are doing isn't
working, and they stop to catch their breath. They do NOT
keep beating their head against a wall! Take a break!
Gain some objectivity and relax for a moment. If you're
discouraged, frustrated, depressed or stuck, be honest
enough to say, "this isn't working" and take a rest.
2. Second, they get very curious to understand exactly
what is happening. There is a difference between being
discouraged, which has to do with fatigue (it may be time
for a vacation), verses depression, which is an illness
(it may be time to see a doctor). Frustration, on the
other hand, is the firm belief that my goal is entirely
possible, it's just not happening yet!
3. They double-check their values and highest
aspirations. Often we are frustrated because our goal is
not consistent with our values. Sometimes we sabotage or
procrastinate because deep inside we don't truly want the
thing we say we want. Human beings can achieve amazing
results when they are totally committed. Unfortunately,
we are also capable of fooling ourselves about this.
4. They ask great questions. They ask themselves, "what
parts of my goal have I achieved?", or "How have other
people solved this problem?" They consult with experts,
read books, search the Internet, and find answers to
questions that can help them move forward. If nothing
else, they'll ask, "What other crazy, off-the-wall thing
could I try just for fun?"
5. They take a DIFFERENT action. After checking their
values, perhaps taking a short rest, and asking great
questions, highly successful people do something different.
They try another way. They hire an assistant or a
consultant.
They develop a new strategy or simply change their approach.
I've come to believe that discouragement, a sense of
impending failure, and frustration are actually very
useful "early warning signs". They are the brain's way
of telling us our objective is reachable, but that we are
going about it the wrong way. These normal experiences
tell us to step back, get perspective, take a deep breath,
and to think clearly! Strategize. Get creative. Ask
better questions.
And most important, clarify your values and be certain
your highest aspirations support you in achieving your
goal. I think ambivalence over our outcomes is perhaps
the greatest source of discouragement. We want more
money, but don't want to be away from home. We want to
lose weight, but enjoy eating too much.
When our values align with our goals, and we ask the
right questions, anything is possible! Use discouragement
to your advantage! It's your brain telling you to listen
up, develop a better strategy, and work smarter rather
than harder.
